FAQs by Service

If it’s become more challenging to manage daily personal activities or housekeeping tasks, our trained and experienced home health aides can assist you.

Just a few example services include:

• Helping those with dementia or other cognitive impairments who simply need a companion to keep them living safely at home

• Bathing, grooming, using the toilet, and dressing

• Meal planning and preparation

• Light housekeeping, laundry, and running errands

• Medication reminders and picking up prescriptions

• Escorts to doctors’ appointments or meetings

• Help with activities or hobbies

• General companionship

Personal care and companionship caregivers cannot do anything that would be described as clinical. Most importantly, they cannot administer any medications. If someone requires insulin or other injections, they will need to self-administer or have a family member do so.

Also, a caregiver should not be monitoring things such as blood sugar levels or blood pressure.

Depending on your needs and preferences, we can provide 24-hour ‘round-the-clock care or live-in caregiving.

With 24-hour care, different aides will work shifts around the clock (for example, three aides each work 8-hour shifts). That is good for someone who needs care throughout the night as well as the day.

Our live-in caregivers* are ideal for those who need ongoing support throughout the day, but don’t often need help at night. Live-in aides perform all the same duties as hourly aides, but since they live with you, they offer a consistent 24-hour presence in the home for peace of mind. It is a great way to develop a close relationship with one dedicated caregiver.

We strive for continuity in who delivers your care. While allowing for things like vacations and staffing changes, your BAYADA caregiver should always remain the same as long as you are in the same location.

To the extent possible, BAYADA will let you know in advance about any expected changes.

Yes. You will need an authorization from your primary physician to schedule an initial evaluation to start receiving in home care.

In most cases, BAYADA can start providing care within 24 hours (subject to staff availability and other factors).

You can even sign up for services on the weekend in most locations.
